Henry "Hank" Rodne

Henry, “Hank” Rodne, 86, of Bothell, WA, former Ponderay resident, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009. He was born Oct. 23, 1922 in Alkabo, North Dakota one of 7 children born to Nikolai and Thea Rodne. He was raised in North Dakota and then traveled, ultimately ending up in North Idaho where he met Frances Mary Tashoff whom he married on Nov. 14, 1953 in Bonners Ferry, ID. In 1956 they bought property in Ponderay where he lived until moving to the Seattle area in 2007 to be near his daughter and family. Hank was a worked for various mills in the area, but spent many years at Louisiana Pacific as a planer, retiring in 1987. He is survived by 1 daughter: Joyce (Carston) Thode of Bothell, WA, 2 grandchildren, Christoph and Alexis Thode; 1 brother: Sven Rodne of OR, 2 sisters: Hanne Wickstrum of WA and Martha Kirkpatrick of Ca. In addition to his wife who died on April 21, 1998 he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00PM Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, with Rev. Ken Smith, officiating. Friends may call at Coffelt Funeral Chapel Tuesday from 4:00-6:00PM.
