Helen M. Misner, 78, of Sagle, died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her home. She was born July 8, 1930 in Miami, Oklahoma the daughter of Jesse and Maxine Helm. When she was a child the family moved to California where she was raised. She was married to Phil Misner on June 2, 1951 in California and they were later divorced. Helen moved to Sandpoint in 1965 where she has since resided.
She was an accomplished artist. She was a talented painter, maker of Indian bead work, and needlepoint. The greatest joy in her life was her family.
She is survived by 5 children: Shela (Jim) Pierce of Hammond, OR, Gerald (Stacia) Misner of Las Vegas, NV, Michael (Diana) Misner of Kirkland, WA, Philip Misner of Grants Pass, OR, Shelly (Dan) Phipps of Walla Walla, WA; 13 Grandchildren: Tawni, Larry, Paul. Kevin, Anna, John, Chris, Brad, Josh, Stephanie, Tyson, Courtney, Chase; 9 great grandchildren: Tara, Nathan, Tanner, Michael, Mackenzie, Jimmie, Makaylah, Rylee, Derek; 2 great great grandchildren: Jazmyn, Willow; and by 3 siblings: Lela Walters, Lois Sexton, and Stanley Earl Good.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Derek Misner and 3 siblings, Ricky Helm, Jean Reeves, and Maxine Rakowski.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Helen’s dear friends and care providers, Adina and Jackie for their love and care shown to our mother over the years. They would also like to give special recognition to Helen’s doctors, and nurses at Bonner General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM, Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Coffelt Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
