John Harmon Howard

John H. Howard, 89, WWII veteran, died on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Sandpoint, Idaho. John is survived by his loving family: Shirley Howard, his wife of 65 years; his children Judy Jones (Kyle Jones) and Jeff Howard (Patty Grandos); his son-in-law Ed Baran; his grandchildren Sam Baran (Franchesca Baran), Jacob Baran (Melissa Baran), Cydney Jones, Ben Howard and Alihna Grandos; and his great granddaughter Sophie Baran. He is also survived by nephews and nieces. John was loved and cherished by his family and friends. There are no words for how much he will be missed. John was preceded in death by his and Shirley's daughter, Patsy Baran. Donations to assist veterans can be made in John's memory to: VFW Post 2453, 1325 W. Pine Street, Sandpoint, ID 83864. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 4pm at First Lutheran Church, 526 S. Olive Avenue, Sandpoint, ID 83864.
