Dale Arnold Waggoner, 85, of Cocolalla, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 in the hospital in Post Falls.

Dale was born at Pea Ridge, Arkansas on May 16, 1931 to Elzie and Sarah, the 5th of 9 children. In 1936 the family moved to southern Idaho and eventually made their way to Cocolalla where they bought a farm on Fish Creek.
In 1952 Dale entered the Air Force where he saw time in Korea and learned the electrical trade. In 1955, at Las Vegas, Nevada, he married Colene Martens of Westmond, Idaho. Upon leaving the Air Force the following year, they moved, with their new son James, to Westmond where they built a home from Farragut barracks on acreage near Colene’s parents.
In 1958 the family moved to Rupert, Idaho where Dale worked as an electrician for the Bureau of Reclamation. While in Rupert, another son, Larry was born. In 1962 Dale transferred to the Ephrata, Washington branch of the Bureau. He and the family settled at Soap Lake. The Bureau department Dale worked for privatized as the Quincy Columbia Basin Irrigation District and Dale worked for them as Technical Supervisor until his retirement in 1996. In 2001 Dale and Colene moved to Cocolalla to be near family.
Dale was preceded in death by his father in 1949, his mother in 1996 and 5 brothers, (Dean, Bill, Frank, Joe, and Louis).
Dale is survived by his wife of 61 years, Colene; sister: Bonnie McCool of Anderson, MO; 2 brothers: Carl of Kennewick, WA and Les of Newport, WA; sister-in-law: Barbara Waggoner of Newport, WA; 2 sons: James (Wanda) of Cocolalla, Larry (Kerry) of Glendale, AZ; 6 grandchildren (Terah Beck of Cocolalla, Heidi Palmer of Sagle, Beaux Waggoner of Westmond, Tessa Waggoner of Sandpoint, Kayla Waggoner of Renton, WA and Melissa Waggoner of Glendale, AZ); 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
