Margaret "Marge" Hartman

February 1, 1944 — August 3, 2009

Margaret “Marge” Hartman passed away suddenly at her home in Sandpoint on Monday August 3, 2009. She was 65. The day and time of the service will be 11 am, August 10, 2009 at Coffelt’s Funeral Home. Pastor Barry Johnson, New Song Bible Church, and Dale Coffelt will officiate. A reception will follow at the VFW Hall in Sandpoint. Marge was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on February 1, 1944, the daughter of Rita R. and Ezekiel “Les” Shaw. She moved to Bonners Ferry, ID as a child and attended Boundary County Schools. She moved to the Sandpoint area in the early 1960’s. After meeting Fred Hartman in 1969, they married in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Dec. 14, 1979. Marge was a loving wife, mother of many, grandmother of more, and friend. She enjoyed feeding the squirrels in the back yard (and sometimes in the house). She was passionate about animals and wildlife, often taking in stray cats, ferrets, and the occasional child or anyone else in need. Marge and Fred enjoyed a drive north to the casino when time permitted. Fred and Marge owned and operated Sandpoint Ambulance and Fred Hartman Towing for many years. Marge was the Office Manager and Dispatcher for both services. In December of 1999, they sold the Sandpoint Ambulance service although continued Fred Hartman Towing as does her husband today. She is survived by her husband, Fred Hartman of Sandpoint; daughter Diann Loosmore, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Dawn Hartman of Sandpoint, Idaho; Vicki Womack of Nederland, Texas; Linda Remsberg of Floressant, Colorado; Fred Hartman, Jr., of Sandpoint, Idaho; Scott Hartman of Sandpoint, Idaho; Step Mother, Ivy Shaw of Loon Lake, Washington and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Rita R. and Ezekiel “Les” Shaw, her son Duane L. Scott, and her daughter, Christine M. Scott. Marge will be missed by all.
