Laura Ann (Blakely) Holbert, 87, passed away on March 12, 2017 at Luther Park, succumbing to dementia/Alzheimer’s.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Andy Kennaly officiating. Burial will take place in Pack River Cemetery.
Laura was born in Roscoe, Montana the daughter of Claud and Lena (Ceria) Blakely on February 1, 1930. Laura helped her mother in their little country store. She attended schools in Roscoe and Absarokee. She met and married F. Lloyd Holbert, in her parents’ home, on November 14, 1948. They headed to Oregon for a few years and then on their way back to Montana, they stopped in Bonner County to see Lloyd’s folks who had moved to Cocolalla by then. Lloyd found work here and they bought their home in Kootenai, where they raised their four children: Kristi, Linda, Peggy and John.
Laura loved being a mother, homemaker, belonging to the Presbyterian Church and later being the best Avon lady around. She loved her neighbors and volunteered where ever she was needed. She had lots of wonderful friends in Kootenai and through the Church.
Laura is survived by her sister Dell Powell; sister-in-laws Mary Bell and Delores Holbert and her children: Kristi (Dennis) McNall, Linda (Bob) Manley, Peggy (Larry) Robinson and John (Leslie) Holbert. Her grandchildren: Aaron McNall, Michele (Richard) Morasch, Jason (Melissa) Hunt, Evan (Janna) Holbert, Adam (Kelly) Alyward-Holbert, Jolin (Chris) Honas and great grandchildren: James and Blake Morasch, Madison McNall, Christian Hunt, Bronson and Carolyn Honas and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, her parents, in-laws and brothers Louis and Claud and a granddaughter in-law Shanna.
