Albert E. Schenck passed away on April 4th, 2017 in Bonners Ferry Idaho. He was born April 22, 1937 to Kenneth Ivan and Edith Pearl (Lanch) Schenck in Condon Oregon. In 1948 the family moved to Clark Fork. Albert Graduated from Clark Fork high school in 1955. While still a teenager, he went to work for Burlington Northern as a laborer and through hard work and dedication he retired as Forman in 1993. Albert married Frances Jacks, June 30th 1958. Although he followed the railroad from one job to another, he has lived in the Clark Fork area all his life. Besides the Railroad, he was community oriented and dedicated to Clark Fork, he served as Councilman and Mayor for Clark Fork for several years and as Mayor had the honor of marrying 5 couples. Albert was also the plowman of Clark Fork; if you needed you driveway plowed he would come over day or night. He was involved in the local Search & Rescue for many years and EMT for Clark Fork Ambulance in its infancy back in the early 70's Albert loved fishing, hiking, backpacking, camping and later on, building birdhouses and tinkering in his woodshop. But spending time in his boat fishing with anyone who wanted to go or taking his grandkids out was the highlight of his day. And although Albert wasn’t a world traveler, he was known worldwide and respected by the circle of friends he made over his lifetime. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, his oldest sister Edna Hagstrom in 1999 and his youngest sister Rita Plummer a day before his. Albert is survived by his wife Frances of 58 years, Sibilings: Marie Kirk, Yuma AZ; Phyllis (Ted) Kardos, Newport WA; Sharon Dunn, Spokane WA; Allen (Donna) Norman, Pendleton OR; Rick (Lynn) Norman, Kellogg ID. Children: Cheryl Schenck, Sandpoint ID; Kenneth Schenck, Clark Fork ID; Russell (Pam) Schenck, Clark Fork ID; Charlene (Steve) Sorrell, Douglass WY and Janet Schenck, Sandpoint ID. Albert will also be missed by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and more cousins, nieces and nephews than we can count. Per his request, there will be no services until his beloved is able to be with him. Any memorials or flowers may be made to the charity of your choice in his name.
