Patrick T. "Tom" Nordeen passed away in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Tom Nordeen was born in Wenatchee, WA to Bill and Polly Nordeen, on June 2, 1944. He lived in Wenatchee until 1960, when his family moved to Sandpoint, ID. He graduated from Sandpoint High School, attended the University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State college, and served in the US Navy for 4 years. He was transferred by the US Forest Service to Avery, ID, in 1977, and continued to live in Avery after his retirement in 2000.
Life in Avery was perfect for Tom, as he loved hunting, fishing, hiking, and all things outdoors. He was known by family of friends as the official historian of Avery and the Upper St. Joe River. His family is extremely grateful to all his friends and neighbors, who were a huge part of his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother Terry (Marcy), sisters Liz and Mary, cousin Sherry Crawford, nieces Ondrea (Chad) and Richelle (John Paul), and nephews Brian (Janet) and Ben, and 8 grand nieces and nephews. The family owes much gratitude to special friends Sidnee Dittman and Sharon Boyd.
Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Post Falls, ID at 2:00 pm Friday May 19. The family plans a celebration of Tom's life, to be held this summer in Avery.
