Myrvin Neal “Bill” Anderson passed away July 4, 2017 at his home in Kootenai. He was born January 5, 1924 to Emil Anderson and Louise Hanson Anderson. At the age of three his father took him fishing and hunting which instilled a lifelong love of the outdoors. He did not measure time by the calendar, it was gauged by hunting and fishing seasons. He spent every elk hunting season in camps at the Lochsa or the High Drive. He also enjoyed skeet shooting and travelled to competitions winning many trophies.
During World War II he served in the US Army Air Corp.
He married Kathryn Rutherford in 1948 and lived in their home with Kathryn’s two children Harvey “Skip” and Marilyn on Lake Pend O’reille in Kootenai. He was a hard worker and throughout his life was employed as a mechanic, carpenter, and mill-worker. He also owned a fishing boat and was a fisherman on the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Washington.
Bill is survived by his stepchildren Harvey (Betty) Rutherford and Marilyn Bruce, a sister Virginia (Ronnie) Kohal, 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, parents, two sisters MaryAnn and Edna, brother Emil, 3 nephews Randy and Billie Kohal, and Fred Gravelle.
