Lila Mae Osborn

Lila Mae Osborn, 77, died on Thursday September 7, 2017 at her home in Sandpoint, Idaho after a long battle with cancer. There will be a vigil /rosary service at St Joseph’s Catholic Church on Thursday Sept. 14, 2017 at 7:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Sept. 15, 2017, at 11:00am, in St Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father Dennis C. Day will be conducting the services. Inurnment will be at the Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston, Idaho. Lila Mae was born on July 30, 1940, the daughter of Marshall and Ruth Crawford, in Orofino, Idaho. She was raised in Pierce, Idaho and graduated from Pierce High School in 1958. She moved to Spokane, Washington in the fall of 58 and attended Kinman Business School. She married Wendell Osborn in Pierce, Idaho on July 29, 1961. She worked for the US Forest Service in the late 60’s. She began a banking career in 1972 with First Security Bank in Pierce, and then later in Orofino. Lila moved to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1996, working for First Security and then retiring from Wells Fargo. Some say she was the best teller they ever had. She was very lucky to have a great retirement job at Sharon’s Hallmark and loved all the ladies she worked with. Lila was the most loyal person. She had a great work ethic and volunteered for many groups. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the Sandpoint Wishing Star Foundation. She worked many years on the Relay for Life Walk in Sandpoint. She was a member of St Joseph’s Parish and the Altar Society where she made some great friends. She spent many Fridays working at the soup kitchen. She enjoyed the many years of camping on the North Fork of the Clearwater River, and fishing for Kokanee in the Dworshak Reservoir. Lila loved decorating her home and was always changing it up. She especially loved her house plants and grew beautiful summer flowers. After she retired she learned to crochet and had made many afghans for the people she loved. Mostly though, she just loved spending time with her family and one special golden retriever. She worked hard at remembering everyone’s special days. She is survived by her children Joseph “Todd” Osborn of Sandpoint, Wendy (Sherman) Rucker of Sandpoint. Grandchildren Savannah (Ryan) Greene of Caldwell, Idaho; Sara Osborn of Caldwell, Idaho; Joseph (Jessica) Triplett of Lewiston, Idaho; Mallory (Josh Allen) Triplett of Ellensburg, Washington; Ashley (Anthony) Salas of Post Falls, Idaho; Tara (Charles) Diemart of Boise, Idaho; and Stephanie (Ryan) Morton of Post Falls, Idaho; as well as ten great grandchildren. We were all blessed to have this beautiful woman in our lives, listening to us and helping us to be good citizens. It was a privilege to know her and she will be forever missed.
