Loretta Hamilton, 89, passed away 2 September 2017 in Fairbanks, Alaska. She was born 26 October 1927 in Sandpoint, Idaho. She was one of 13 children born to Ralph H. Hunt and Carrie Ellen “Timblin” Hunt. She attended schools in Bonner County, graduating the 8th grade at the old North Star School, on Upper Pack River, and graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1946. She married Harry L. Courser in 1948 in Thompson Falls, Montana. Three children were born to this union; Byron, Shannon and David. Harry passed away in 1961, she then married Martin Hamilton in 1962. Two children were born to this union Mark and Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers Harold (Hi), Emery, Herburt (Bo), Stanley, Stanford and Gerald; five sisters Mildred Buford, Mary Jane Joseph, Gertrude Ferguson, Ellen Johnson and Delores Sines; both husbands, a daughter Shannon and one grandson David Courser Jr. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Forgey of Connell, WA; three sons Byron Courser of Poulson, MT, David (Kathy) Courser of North Dakota and Mark (Sheri) Hamilton of Victor, MT; one daughter Mary (J.D.) Ward of Northpole, AK and a daughter in law Joyce of Montana. She is also survived by four step children, 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
