Joan Elaine McNeil, 70, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2017 in Spokane, Washington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Heinsen officiating. Interment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Park following the service with lunch back at the church. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Coffelt Funeral Service. Joan was born on February 15, 1947 to Lillian and Lester Duncan. She graduated from Cheney High School in 1965. She had some college. She married John McNeil on January 8, 1966. They built a home and raised three daughters in Sandpoint, Idaho where they lived for over 50 years. Joan worked as a CNA and caregiver for many years but the job that was closest to her heart was a church organist. Joan’s hobbies included sewing, crafts, shopping and gardening. She enjoyed road trips, cruises, traveling and going to the Sandpoint Senior Center. She loved her family, friends and members of the community. Her faith in God gave her great strength and she cherished the members of Christ Our Redeemer Church. Joan is survived by her three daughters Ginette Teraceno, Jennifer (Rich) Eppler and Julie (Jeff Paul) McNeil; grandchildren Richard (Laura) Bell, Annie (Chris) Chadwick, Hana (Casey) Hellman, Justin Carpenter, Skylar Kessler and Alex Kessler; great grandchildren Robert Bell, Larry Bell, Todd Bell, Stephen Hellman; her brother Larry (Yvonne) Duncan along with numerous family members. She was preceded in death by her husband John McNeil, her parents Lester and Lillian Duncan and her brother Lonnie Duncan.
