Charles "Buddy" Coward, Jr.

October 8, 1957 — December 28, 2009

Charles B. “Buddy” Coward had a gentle demeanor which made him a friend to all who crossed his path. He passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 28, 2009. He was 52. Memorial funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM, Friday, January 8, 2010 at Coffelt Funeral Chapel, with Father Dennis C. Day, officiating. Buddy was born in Fort Myers, Fl. on October 8, 1957. He was the oldest son of Charles and Clara “Ma” Coward. He fell in love with Sandpoint, and made it his home in 1990. He worked at Idaho Electric and Pastime Sports before focusing on farming. Buddy met his loving wife of 12 years, Anne, on a blind date in 1996. Following that first date he told his parents and closest friends that he had met his soul mate. They wed in 1997 and welcomed daughter, Sarah, the light of his life, that same year. He was a constant in his little girls’ life until his passing. Sarah loved him very much. Buddy made the most of his time here on earth. He was an enthusiastic sportsman and spent much of his free time hunting and fishing with his family and good friends. He was very excited to take his daughter Sarah on her first hunting adventure this year. His cooking skills were unrivaled and many of his meals featured his game or catch of the day. He was such a great culinary artist that his friends often suggested that he open a restaurant. Buddy grew up on a family flower farm and was a farmer at heart. Agriculture became his passion. He had nurturing connection to the soil and plants. His energy surrounds the family farm. Buddy, Anne and Sarah were in the process of building their dream home out at the “farm” where he spent so much of his time. Buddy is survived by his wife Anne, his 12 year old daughter Sarah, a 16 year old son Chase of Spokane, Washington, parents Charles and Clara Coward of Leesburg, Florida, brother David Coward of Florida and sisters Pam Gregg of Tennessee and Linda Ford of Florida. He had numerous nieces, nephews and friends he loved dearly. Buddy was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sarah Grand in spirit as well as stature his absence will be felt by many. Family members suggest that any memorial contributions be made to Bonner County 4 H club. A memorial fund has been set up in his honor. God Speed Buddy! You are our light and energy in the music that we hear and life outside. We will miss you until we meet again! Family and friends are invited to sign Buddy’s online guestbook at www.coffeltfuneral.com. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral service.
