Verna June Jacobson

Verna June Jacobson, 83, of Sandpoint, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at The Bridge. Memorial graveside services will be conducted 1:00PM, Monday, May 24, 2010 at Lakeview Cemetery, with Wayne Gunter, officiating. Verna was born February 17, 1927 in Walsh, Colorado the daughter of Vernice and Delma Bewley Lock. She moved with her family to the Sagle area as a young child. She attended schools in Sagle and Sandpoint. On April 10, 1943 she married Frank Jacobson in Coeur d’ Alene. Together they raised their family in Sagle. In 1974 they moved to Coeur d’ Alene where she lived until 2008 when, due to ill health, she moved back to Sandpoint to be near her family. Verna dearly loved children and for many years after her husband’s death in 1982 she provided child care in her home. Verna enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking. Verna is survived by 5 children: Linda (Jack) Lindsey of Spokane, WA, Terry Jacobson of Sagle, David (Nicki) Jacobson of Bonners Ferry, Nita (Brad) Allard of Sagle, Susan (Kevin) Dreier of Sandpoint; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 3 siblings: Joanie (Bob) Butler of Spokane, WA, Vera Kolegraf of Bremerton, WA, Dee Lock of Spokane, WA; and by many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, Bud, and 1 son Jimmy. In honor of her love for children the family suggests memorials to Kinderhaven, P.O. Box 2097, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864.
