Jack H. Plumb, 89, passed away in Kootenai, ID on Thursday, October 28, 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11;00 AM, Tuesday, Nov.9th in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Pastor Barry Johnson, New Song Bible Church will be the officiant. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Jack was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on August 18, 1921, the son of Roy and Margaret Plumb. He attended school in Coeur d’Alene and joined the US Navy the day after Pearl Harbor. He served 6 years with the Navy seeing action in both the Pacific and the Atlantic.
He married Florence West, in Coeur d’Alene, ID; on August 6, 1951 and moved to Sandpoint that same year.
He worked as a welder in Hanford and also became a pipeline welder. He worked for Fred Kennedy in Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry and also for Pacific Gas and Transmission NW out of Samuels. He worked on both the Noxon and Cabinet Gorge Dams.
Jack enjoyed fishing and fished commercially, for Bluebacks, on
Lake Pend Oreille. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, in 2002.
