Edward Ernest Ahlquist

Edward Ernest Ahlquist, 85, of Sandpoint, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at Life Care. Private family services will be held at a later time. He was born Oct. 28, 1925 in San Diego, CA the son of Roger & Billie Ahlquist. He was raised and completed school in San Diego. Following his graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Following the war he returned to San Diego and on Jan. 4, 1945 married Betty Pennington. They lived in California for many years where he worked as a teamster in heavy construction for 35 years. He and Betty moved to Sandpoint in 1988. Edward is survived by his wife Betty: 1 daughter: Allison Winstell of Lamoore, CA; 1 step-son: Dave Dorland of Sandpoint; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
