Everett M. Luckey, 84, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Sunday, February 25, 2007.
A visitation will be held 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2006 at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Ave., Sandpoint, ID.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 2, 2007 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, 206 Summit Blvd., in Priest River, ID. Father Dennis C. Day will be officiating.
Everett was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on August 6, 1922 to Merton and Blanche (Swanger) Luckey. He was raised in Sandpoint and was the middle child of ten children.
After graduating High School in 1940 he moved to Seattle and worked in the Quartermaster Warehouse from January 1942 until November of that year.
He was drafted into the service in October 1942, when he entered the 756th Bombardment Squadron. He served in battles and Campaigns in France, Italy, The Balkans, Normandy, Central Europe and others.
Everett received the Good Conduct medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service medal, Distinguished Unit Citation. He received a honorable discharge on September 4, 1946.
After the War he worked for a short time in the Mining Industry. In 1953 he married Annamay Langron. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Priest Lake where he enjoyed many outdoor activities. He worked in the Logging Industry there until his retirement in 1984.
He had one son, Michael, his wife Susie and four Grandchildren: Michael, Anna, Lily and Thomas.
Everett is survived by his son and family, a brother Lee Luckey of Spokane, WA; a sister Dora Stuart of Nevada; a brother Harvey Luckey of Priest River, ID; and Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Annamay in 2002.
