Barbara Gale Shaver

Barbara G. Shaver was born on January 26, 1943 in Oakland, California to parents Frank and Carrie Chance.  She had a sister – Elizabeth and brother Bob.  She graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, California in 1960 and was active and loved the drama club all during school.

Barb married Bob Shaver of Sandpoint, Idaho her husband, best friend and partner for 46 years on February 10, 1977.  They had five children; Kim (John), Stephanie (Corey), Chad (Dawn), Roberta (Ben) and Jon.  She has 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She worked at Crescent Jewelers, had a long career in the banking industry and retired from the business department of Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho in 2005.

Barb loved their place on Upper Pack River, watching and photographing the deer, bear, moose, birds and flowers.  She had a quick sense of humor and a fiery spirit.

Barb passed away on July 23, 2023.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years Bob Shaver, her brother Bob Chance, her five children, 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Its hard to express in such a small space how the family feels about such a big person and life.  God speed honey, mom, sis and grandma we love you.
