Carolyn Stephanie Pointek Arnold, “Terry,” was born on January, 13, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. She became a Registered Nurse and moved to Florida in 1966, where she met and married her husband, Olen W. Arnold. Their desire to better their family led Terry and Olen back and forth across the country, ultimately to Bakersfield, California, where they took over the local Burger King franchise. In that community, Terry and Olen built a business and left a legacy of honesty, generosity, and goodness. Following her beloved husband’s untimely death in 2005, Terry continued to run their business for a number of years until retiring to Sandpoint, Idaho to be near her daughter and her family. Terry was preceded in death by her husband, Olen, and her son, Scott. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Arnold Leyendecker and her husband John Leyendecker; her brother, Joseph Pointek; her son’s widow, Shona Leon; and her two beloved grandchildren, Joeli Grace Leyendecker and Christopher Nicholas Arnold. We would like to thank everyone who supported and prayed for our Nana during her long illness. Our deepest gratitude is owed to Jessie Peters and Lily Sigman of Druthers Healthcare; their devoted love of and care for Nana meant the world to her and to us. Special thanks also to Brittany Brown whose care and support carried us through the hardest hours. Bless you all. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 601 S. Lincoln Av., in Sandpoint, ID. Internment of her remains will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery, 499 Pinecrest Loop, Sandpoint, ID. In lieu of flowers, we would request that donations be made in Nana’s honor to Samaritan’s Purse, an organization near and dear to her heart.
