Catherine Edith Raynor

October 21, 1936 — February 4, 2023

Catherine Edith Raynor, “Katie Campbell”, passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2023.

Katie was born in Laclede, Idaho on October 21, 1936 on the family homestead, which was homesteaded in the late 1800s by her Grandparents, Thomas and Edith Campbell. She attended school in Laclede and graduated from Priest River High School in 1954. She married Jack Raynor on October 9th,1954 in Thompson Falls, Mt.  He preceded her in death in October of 2021.

Katie was very proud of the family homestead and displayed the original homestead document in her home which was signed by President William McKinley. She had many tales of her family trading with the Native Americans that were crossing the Pend Oreille River at Laclede on their way to their games in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Having both a flower and a vegetable garden was what gave Katie great joy and she was known for her green thumb. She also loved to decorate her home, especially for Christmas.

Katie loved hosting family gatherings and spending time with her nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She always tried to have special treats on hand for them when they visited. She also enjoyed hosting card parties and playing cards with her many friends.

Katie is preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, and grandson, Cam Raynor. She is survived by her children; Jackie (Brian) Carter, Radd (Judy) Raynor, Laura King, Patti Balch and Todd Raynor and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousin Mary Patrezba. Mary and Katie were raised as sisters at the family homestead.

The family will be gathering in April to celebrate her life.
