With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dale Richard Kunsa, who died peacefully with a smile on his face in Sagle, Idaho on January 29, 2025.
Born in Manhattan, New York, on February 12, 1954, to parents Dorothy (Donna) Demme and Edward Kunsa, Dale grew up alongside his beloved sister, Sharon Kaminsky, in Queens, New York. From an early age, Dale’s inquisitive mind, mischievous spirit, and contagious laugh set him apart, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to know him.
A man of deep faith, Dale devoted his heart and life to Jesus Christ, finding peace and purpose in his unwavering spiritual journey. He embraced a mostly solitary life in the beauty of nature, where he found freedom, peace, and a profound respect for all living things.
Dale cherished life’s simple pleasures: great music like Jimi Hendrix, a classic western movie, a good cup of coffee, a long bike ride, and the quiet majesty of the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Saird Kunsa, whose memory he carried with love. He is survived by his daughters Alida Kunsa, Bethany Kunsa, and Clare Kunsa, who will forever remember his playful nature, free spirit, and the love they shared.
Dale’s life was a testament to living authentically and faithfully, guided by the beauty of nature and the grace of God. He will be dearly missed by his family and close friends, whose lives were deeply touched by his presence.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held privately by the family. In his memory, the family invites you to spend a moment in nature, listen to your favorite song, or simply smile with joy for the life you have.
Rest peacefully, Dad. You are forever in our hearts.
