Dorothy Lee Barfuss, 80.
With great sadness we announce the loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.
Lee was born in Warrensburg, Illinois in 1940 and lived in various towns growing up. She married Gale Barfuss in 1958 in Sandpoint, Idaho where they raised two daughters, Kim and Penny, and additionally cared for many foster children.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents John L. Oxley and Dorothy Eleanor Oxley Johnson, and her youngest sister Kay (Oxley) Tillberg.
Lee is survived by her husband, Gale, her daughters Kim Barfuss of Sandpoint and Penny Tenuto (Frank), sisters Dee Holzer and Joyce Jenkins, her grandchildren Stephen Tenuto and Alissa Korsak (Greg), great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Since Lee was an avid reader, the family requests a donation to the Friends of the Library in lieu of flowers.
The memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday, September 18, 2020 at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel, 109 N. Division Avenue, Sandpoint, Idaho, with Dale Coffelt officiating.
