George Eugene Strong

George Eugene Strong Jr. 87, passed away on March 19, 2018 in Sandpoint.    Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30am, Monday, March 26th, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Father Dennis C. Day officiating.  Military honors will be presented by Dale Coffelt.  Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.   George was born on December 16, 1930 in Washington D.C., the son of George and Mary Strong.  In 1962 he married Barbara Anne Murray and she preceded him in death in 2003.  He served, with the U S Army, in Korea.  He retired, as a draftsman for the U S Navy, working out of the Bayview, Idaho Naval Research Center.   In high school he was a pitcher for his baseball team, he always enjoyed baseball and watching it on television.  He enjoyed art, working in charcoal and completing pencil drawings.   He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a son Kelvin.
