Gerald Richard Wyatt

August 25, 1947 — November 16, 2018

The next time you find yourself on a quiet forest path, or freezing your fingers and toes while hunting, take a moment to remember Jerry Wyatt.

On Friday, November 16, 2018, Gerald (Jerry) R. Wyatt passed away at age 71. Born in Sandpoint, Idaho on August 25, 1947, to Ralph and Blanche Wyatt, he was a beloved father, brother, grandparent, uncle and neighbor.

After graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1965, Jerry then attended North Idaho College in Coeur d’ Alene,  Id and worked in the grocery industry.  He moved to Mansfield Ohio in 1969 where he worked in retail management.

Jerry and his wife Brenda moved to Cocolalla, Idaho  from Mansfield, Ohio in 1978 when he again began working in the grocery industry. He eventually bought and managed several Diane’s distribution routes, which his son Jason now runs.
Jerry could often be found in a grocery store, delivering goods and chatting with folks on his routes throughout North Idaho.

Living in the woods near Cocolalla, Idaho, Jerry loved the outdoors — hunting and fishing as if it were in his DNA, as his father and generations of the Wyatt family had before him. Jerry always had a good story to tell and always had meat in his freezer.

Jerry is survived by his brothers Jim (Jill) and Larry (Dru), daughter Pam Wyatt Westfall (Gene), son Jason (Erin), step-daughters  Angie Henry and Krista Gervasi, several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Robert.

There will be a celebration of Jerry’s life at 11:00am on Saturday, December 1 at Coffelt’s Funeral Home, 109 N. Division Ave. Sandpoint. Viewing is from 9 -11am. If you’re out hunting that morning and can’t attend, don’t worry. Jerry would understand. In a way, he’ll probably be with you.
