GLORIA MARGUERITE THOMAS was born in Thompson Falls, MT on March 22, 1938 to Patrick and Myrtle McLinden of Trout Creek, MT. She graduated from Noxon High School in 1956 and in July of that year married Gary Thomas of Sandpoint,ID. He was the love of her life and they did everything together. She enjoyed camping, fishing, riding horses and anything to do with the outdoors. One of her favorite jobs was working with Gary as Wilderness Rangers for the Forest Service in the High Uintahs Wilderness in Utah. Gloria loved animals and always had a dog or cat around. In recent years she was confined to being indoors and found pleasure in watching the hummingbirds.
Gary and Gloria made their home in Hanksville, Utah until Gary’s passing in October 2018. Gloria stayed with family in Heron, MT until her passing on December 30, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary of 60 years, son Gary Duane, two brothers…..Melvin and Patrick, four sisters…….Evelyn, Lenora, Irene,and Rosie. She is survived by her daughter Debbie of Heron, sons Bruce of Murry Utah and Steven of Mountain View, Arkansas. Three Brothers…..Jim and Dan of Trout Creek, MT and Barney of Heron, MT. Along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be on Saturday, January 5th at 11 a.m. at the Heron Baptist Church followed by a potluck. We will all miss her greatly.
