Harold William Davidson II

Harold W. Davidson II, 86, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Sandpoint, Idaho.   A visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.   Harold was born on March 20, 1931 in Freeport, New York the son of Harold and Frances (Friedrick) Davidson.  He grew up and attended in Freeport, N.Y and graduated from high school in Freeport, New York.  Harold attended Hosftra College in New York after serving in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  During Harold’s career he was a Policeman in Greenwich, Connecticut and Portage, Michigan.  In 1971, he became a Drug Enforcement Agent with the Federal Department of Drug Enforcement (DEA) from which he retired from in 1991 in Spokane, Washington.   Harold married Janet R. Osgood on December 8, 1951 in Hamburg, New York.  They made their home in New Jersey for a short time.  They moved to a number of places, living in Grenwich, CT, Portage and Sterling Heights, MI, Tucson, AZ, and Spokane, WWA in 1987.  They settled in Sandpoint, ID following Harold’s retirement in December 1990.  Janet passed away in 2003.   Harold was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Association of Former Federal Narcotics Agents (AFFNA), the American Legion and Safety-Peace Officers Retired to Sandpoint (SPORTS).  Harold enjoyed the shooting sports, hunting and the great outdoors.    He is survived by his three sons: Michael Alan Davidson and wife Wanda K. Welch of Tucson, AZ, Robert Earle Davidson of Ionia, MI and Peter Harold Davidson of Ionia, MI; four grandchildren Diana Vichare, Ivy Welch, Felicia Davidson and John Davidson; one great grandchild Ayden Vichare and his friend and companion Judith Heston.   Harold was preceded in death by his wife and parents.   A memorial fund may be made in Harold’s honor to the SPORTS of Sandpoint, ID and North Idaho Voluntarists PO Box 965 Spirit Lake, ID.
