Jack R. Pierce

September 21, 1936 — October 16, 2022

Jack R. Pierce, 86, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Ponderay, Idaho.

Jack was born 86 years ago to Max and Berniece Pierce on Lignite Road in Sagle, Idaho.

In 1951, his parents moved over Gold Hill to a ranch on the Glengary Peninsula where he lived the rest of his life.  He loved the ranch; raising cattle, haying and the constant fence and equipment repairs.

He served in the Army for two years from 1956 to 1958, where he made lifelong friends.

Jack married Belva Linscott on June 7, 1958 and by 1962 had added three children; Bobby, Kristy and Susan.  In 1973 along came another, Terry.

Jack started working for Northern Lights in 1967 as a groundsman, working his way up to a lineman.  He truly enjoyed mentoring apprentices, his work family and serving the community with electricity.  He retired from Northern Lights in 2001.

He looked forward to elk camp and hunting for the “big one” and deer hunting on local properties.  Always in the company of good friends Ed Brisboy, Dan Hull and many others.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Max and Bernice Pierce, his brother Ray, two nephews and a niece.

He is survived by his four children Bobby, Kristy, Susan (Aaron) and Terry (Kari); four grandchildren Steffanie, Mikayla, Kristopher and Spencer; five great grandchildren; his sisters Sally McDermott (Tony), Nancy Pucci (skip), Chery O’Toole (Chris Mitchell) and Eileen Sisson (Brent) along with 11 nieces and nephews.

Jack will be missed by his family and friends.
