Jay Carl Herrmann, 71, passed away at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho on June 23, 2019.
Funeral services, with military honors, will be conducted at 1:00pm, Friday, June 28th, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Dale Coffelt.
Jay was born on December 31, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. He would grow up in Everett, Washington where he attended local schools. He served with the US Marine Corp, from 1965 until 1969 being deployed to Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW, Post 2453 and the Marine Corp League, having served as commandant.
Following his military service he worked in heating and cooling in Southern California. He later moved to Sandpoint and established Panhandle Heating and Cooling, retiring in 2002. On June 6, 2011 he married Rose Claire Cuizon in Sandpoint. He enjoyed target shooting, boating and fishing. He also loved to collect, and restore, old farm tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Claire Herrmann and his daughter Kacey, also surviving are 3 brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
