Jefferson Elmer Overholser

April 13, 1926 — October 3, 2018

Jeff Overholser passed peacefully with his wife, Barb, by his side on October 3, 2018.  JEO was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, grandpa great, and friend to many.  Jeff was born in Spokane on April 13, 1926 to Jeff & Annie Overholser and graduated from North Central High School.  Jeff continued his education at University of Idaho where he played basketball and baseball.  He was a teacher & coach and became an administrator at Freeman & West Valley High Schools.  Jeff helped to organize and develop SCC & SFCC, and became the Vice President of the Community Colleges of Spokane. Jeff served on many state and national committees as a member, officer and president, where he received several state and national awards.

Jeff married the love of his life, Barbara, in June of 1955.  They were blessed with two daughters, Susan (Jeff Bemis) and Nancy Jewett.  They were even more thrilled with their four grandchildren, Skip, Jennifer, Chad and Taylor.  Recently they welcomed four great grandchildren.

Jeff was an avid fisherman and hunter.  Jeff and Barb enjoyed traveling & cruising. Both loved Pend Oreille Lake and spent memorable times at their home there.  Jeff lived life to the fullest, and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.  Donations can be made in Jeff’s name to the Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation Athletic Scholarships.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 18th at 3:00pm, Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Rd, Spokane Valley, 99206.
