Joyce E. Seppala, 89, of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at Senior Park Villa in Chandler AZ. She was born Nov. 26, 1934, in Artesian, South Dakota, the daughter of Chester and Ruth Grindle, and was raised and educated in Aitkin, Minnesota. She married the love of her life, Melven Seppala, on June 19, 1954, in Cloquet, Minnesota.
They lived in Cloquet for the next 19 years where she was involved with the Brownies and Girl Scouts. She worked for Johnson Clothing store and then for the University of Minnesota at the Forestry Extension Center until moving in 1973. They moved to Sandpoint, Idaho where she worked as a retail salesperson for JCPenney until she retired.
Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and love were core values, and she touched countless hearts through her warm smile and tender heart. Her love for life, family and friendship was irresistible. She would never take for granted a moment spent with a friend or family member as she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Seppala in 2014, son Steven Seppala in 2004, and daughter Lynnae Reed in 2021.
Joyce is survived by her; two children, Keven (Sandi) Seppala of Sagle, Idaho, and Ross (Lisa) Seppala of Moyie Springs, Idaho; grandchildren, Eric Seppala, James (Kris) Martin, Cory (Kristy) Martin; and great-grandchildren, Mya, Lana and Josiah Martin.
