Joyce Arlene Spracklen

Joyce Arlene Spracklen passed away in the early morning hours of November 8, 2022 in the home of her son in Raymond, MS.  Born to Ruby and Lawrence Rothenfluh on December 11, 1940 she joined her sister Doris, six years her senior.

Joyce attended local schools and went to secretarial school in Spokane, WA.  she had many careers over the years; mother, wife, grandma, secretary, dental assistant and housekeeper.

She married Robert Spracklen on October 29, 1960 moving to Spokane, WA living there for a year and a half before settling on the three acres outside of Moscow, ID.  They built their beloved log home while raising three children. In the summer of 1976 they packed up the three kids and dog and took an amazing three month trip exploring Alaska.

They returned to Sandpoint in 1983 to take care of family abligations and to provide their children with a christian education.

Joyce enjoyed joining her husband on his various jobs in the PNW.  She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister.

She is survived by her children Edric and Teri Spracklen of Raymond, MS; grandchildren Evan, Shelby and Ethan.  Aaron and Jennifer Spracklen of LaGrand, OR; and grandchildren Jonathan and Meghan; Erica Best of Sandpoint, ID and grandchildren Brayden and Emma.
