Kay Anita Rasor was born on December 27th, 1935, in Buffalo, New York. On July 1st, 2023, at the age of 87, she peacefully passed away at her home in Sandpoint, Idaho, supported by family.
Kay was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and sister. She is survived by her children: Robin, Darryl, Susan, and Mike; her grandchildren: Jaime, Justin, Katy, and Elaina; her great-grandchildren: Anthony, Eli, Logan, Alyssa, Jacob, and Florence; son-in-law Joey; future in-laws: Rod and Susie; siblings: Sandra and David; as well as local cousins: Mary, Rebecka, Kyra, and Aylah. She fondly remembered her departed sister, Pat G.; cousin, Pat P. from Sagle; and daughter-in-law, Jean.
Born and raised in Buffalo, New York. Kay’s parents were Marie and Donald Folsom and stepmother Mary. Her life's journey led her to marry John Duszynski and relocate to San Diego where John was assigned on the U.S. Navy Submarine, USS Tilefish. Kay joyfully raised four children and after living in several locations in Southern California, she finally settled with John on a farm 10 miles down Sagle Road in 1969. On that farm Kay discovered her passion for gardening, taking great pleasure in preserving her homegrown fruits and vegetables, and mastering the art of making raspberry freezer jam.
Later in life, Kay found love once again and married her soulmate, Bob Rasor. They shared many wonderful years together, embarking on adventures in their motorhome, traveling across America.
Kay embraced her Catholic faith and the local Catholic community, finding fulfillment in volunteering at the local soup kitchen and caring for the elderly.
Kay's sharp intellect and passion for games were well-known. She was a formidable opponent in Yahtzee and Scrabble. She adored her canine companions: Polly, Boots, Missy, Pepper, and Toby.
The memory of Kay will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held on Friday, August 11th, at 1:00pm at Coffelt Funeral Chapel located at 109 N Division Ave, Sandpoint, ID 83864, followed by a final disposition of cremated remains at the Little Church in The Wildwood located at 9230 Sagle Rd, Sagle, ID 83860 around 2:45 pm.
