Kenneth Ervin Beaudoin passed on to his eternal home October 16, 2021.
Born in Dickinson, North Dakota, to Joe and Hannah (Booke ) Beaudoin on Dec. 17, 1933, Ken started school at St. Patrick’s and graduated from DHS in 1953, where he lead the state in scoring for football and basketball and also participated in track. After enlisting in the Army and serving 2 years in Germany, he returned and graduated from Dickinson State University in 1960, the same year he married Monica (Warren) of Grassy Butte.
They started their teaching careers, spending three years in Greybull, Wyoming, then Burns, Oregon, before settling in their “Little Piece of Heaven” at Sandpoint, Idaho in 1965. Ken received his masters degree from the University of Idaho in 1968 and also coached multiple sports over the years including Bulldog football, basketball and golf, later becoming director of student activities.
Ken was a gem of a man, his kind and engaging “hello” to everyone he met, and his witty comments and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Whether playing cards or reveling in the outdoors, his good nature blessed family and friends.
Monica’s passing in October 2020 brought Ken to be with family, first in Texas with sisters, then back to Bismarck-Mandan, North Dakota, where he delighted in visiting and “catching” fish, especially with Marge and Tom. Rest in peace, dear Kenny.
Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Monica; mother and father; sisters, Dorothy, Janette, Marlease, and LaVonne; and brothers, Lester, Lorne, Wally, Floyd, LeRoy “Pudge,” and Tommy.
Ken is survived by sisters Arvella Holder, California ; Marge (Tom) Gunderson, Bismarck North Dakota/Texas; Diana(Rod) Myers, Texas/Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews. A family memorial for Ken is planned for a later date.
