Kenneth Harrison Russell

December 18, 1948 — July 11, 2023

Ken Russell was born on December 18, 1948 in Estherville, Iowa to LeRoy and Erma Russell.  He peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 and went to be with his Lord and Savior.

Ken graduated from Beaman-Conrad-Linscomb High School in 1967 and then attended Marshalltown Community College and worked in Marshalltown.  He married the love of his life Shelly Everhart in 1972 in Gretna, Nebraska.  Recently they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

In 1973, Ken and Shelly moved to the Pacific Northwest where Ken pursued his love of fishing, hunting and trapping.  He had a variety of jobs until in 1989 he purchased the Stove Corral.  After a couple bouts of cancer, he sold the business and retired in 2012.

Ken shared the love of the outdoors with his sons Jerod and Nicolas.  No matter where he was or what he was doing he always had time for others and would share his love of Christ.  He truly loved his many tips to Alaska fishing.

He is survived by his wife Shelly, his two sons: Jerod and wife Allie, Nicolas, two grandchildren Tyrone Larson and Amaya Russell, his sister Vicki Cox, niece Shawna Groneberg and five nephews Mike Majerus and family, Dustin Cox and family, Skyler Everhart, Drew Niceley and Troy Niceley.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karel and niece Gena.
