Leon Charles Anderson

Leon Charles Anderson, 83, passed away, with his family by his side, on Sunday, December 31, 2017

 

 

Memorial Services will be announced later in the spring.  Inurnment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park with his wife and daughter.

 

 

Leon was born in Spearfish, South Dakota on Feb 27, 1934, the older twin son of Charles and Winnie Anderson.  The family lived in Spearfish and Deadwood South Dakota until moving to Kellogg, Idaho in 1948 where he went to school.  He moved to the Sandpoint area and worked on the Cabinet Gorge Dam.

 

 

Leon married Beverly Ann Buck on July 11, 1953, in Thompson Falls, MT after meeting at the Sandpoint Café.  They would make their home in Sandpoint, enjoying long drives, snowmobiling and raising their family.

 

 

Leon would work at Kaiser Aluminum, Dalby’s Service Station, was a car salesman for Hiatt Motors, and was a partner in “Lucky Three Auto Sales” in Bonners Ferry, ID.  He worked for Madsen’s distributors and would retire, in 1995, from Bill Jones Distributors.

 

 

In retirement Leon would stay active by plowing snow, opening Roxie”s for breakfast and attending the Sunday Morning Gathering at the 219.

 

 

He is survived by his children Carrie (Roy) Jacobson and Leon (Glenda) Anderson, Jr both in Sandpoint; 4 grandchildren Julie (Amos) Walkington, Josiah (Nicole Stufflebeam) Anderson, Luke (Anita) Anderson and Jaden Anderson; 5 great grandchildren Grace Meyer, Riley Walkington, Halle Anderson, Tinsley Anderson, and Cambree Anderson.  Also surviving is his twin brother Lyle “Icky” (Gail) Anderson, his sisters Reta (Bob) Tissue, Betty (Leonard) Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Leon is preceded in death by his wife Beverly, parents Charles and Winnie Anderson, Brother Gene Anderson, granddaughter Jennifer Meyer and step daughter Jeannie Anderson.

 

 

Memorials may be made to celebrate Life or the Bonner Community Hospice.
