"It's been a helluva ride, Woodrow!" quips 78-year-old "Grampie" Loren E Jones as he strode into eternity on April 21, 2023, admonishing that 'Jesus truly loves us' to those of us standing there, waving our hats after him as he took that last ride. His wife, Nona, sons Morris, Brad, Greg, and Kamron, daughters, Krysti, Karmin, Kasey and Adrienne, numerous grandkids, cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and outlaws, and dozens of girlfriends (you know who you are, and so do I!) and hundreds of guyfriends that he accumulated during his life in Bonner County, ID, Chadron, NB, North Pole, AK, and Thompson Falls, MT were loath to see him go. His battle with COPD and the ravages of a long, hard-working life slipped into memories as he figuratively waved his farewell, picked up his guitar and stepped over the threshold.
Oh, how he loved us! But, no tears here. We'll literally have the last laugh as we come together and talk about him on Memorial Day, May 29th at his home in Athol, from 2-4 PM, recounting some of the antics and orneriness that he afforded us during his long life of love. Surviving brother Allan and sisters Babe and Kathy will then be able to 'tattle' on him about his pranks and not worry about retributions!
God bless him! Oh, how he loved all of us! And oh, how we all loved him!
