Lowell Raymond Thomson, 81 years of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 1, 2022.
Lowell was born January 7, 1941 to Raymond & Evelyn Thomson in Winner, North Dakota. A graduate of Sandpoint High School in 1959, he went on to work for his brother Norm as a Commercial Sales Estimator for asbestos removal.
Lowell met and fell in love with Evelyn Yamashita while serving in the U.S. Navy in Honolulu, Hawaii. Lowell and Evelyn went on to have 2 children, Shawn and Lowell Jr.
In his retirement years, Lowell enjoyed watching his Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing. He ventured out to watch granddaughter Kirsten race lawnmowers. One of his favorite pastimes was shooting pool at Bob's 21 Club in Post Falls. Known as 'The Man in Black', Lowell could often be found with a cup of coffee and pool cue in hand for a game of 'Straight 8 Call Your Pocket'.
Lowell was predeceased by his wife Evelyn. He is survived by sister Bonnie Carlson; brothers Darrell and Norm Thomson, children Shawn Moss and Lowell Thomson Jr; grandchildren Daniel Mitchell, Ty Carter, Dylan and Garrett Flolo, Kirsten, & Emma Thomson and Abigail Stevens and Connor Hindberg; and great-grandchildren Harrison Alworth & Dean and Levi Carter.
Memorial services will be held at Northwest Family Church on December 3, 2022 at 2:00pm.
