Margarete “Margo” H. Hopper passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2023, at the age of 96 years at Luther Park Assisted Living in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Born in Fürth, Germany, Margo endured World War II as a teenager and later went on to live a very full life in America. A mother of two children, a grandmother of five, and a great-grandmother of two, Margo was a successful business owner who thoroughly enjoyed retirement in Yuma, Ariz. She later relocated to Luther Park in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Throughout her life, Margo enjoyed creative endeavors such as dancing, painting, and working with the Tacoma Opera Society. She later pursued outdoor activities including birdwatching and pickleball. Once she transitioned from being a snowbird to becoming a full-time desert dweller she enjoyed playing pool and volunteering for the Yuma Conservation Garden.
Margo was preceded in death by her father, and mother, Emil and Frieda Rupp; her siblings, John and Rudi; her son, Michael; her first husband, Sgt. Joseph Hynes; her second husband, Clarence Hopper; and her third husband, Glen Hendrick.
Margarete leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Will Webb, and their three children; and her son’s wife, Susan Hopper, and her two children.
The family appreciates the help and support of Luther Park, Bonner General Hospice, Dr. Hannah Raynor and Dr. Meza and staff. A private memorial will be held at a later time.
