Marjorie ‘Midge’ Huber Beavers, 94, a resident of Luther Park, Sandpoint, Idaho, formerly of Cleveland, Tennessee and Altoona, Florida, died peacefully in her sleep, on December 19, 2019. Born March 14, 1925 in Seymour, Indiana, she is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Lena Huber, her sister Doris Tormoehlen Voss, and her husband of 71 years, M.E. ‘Joe’ Beavers.
“Miss Midge” was a lifelong learner. She loved teaching – adult Bible study and children’s Sunday school, kindergarten and elementary students, and Girl Scouts. She received her M.S. in Early Childhood Education and Counseling at age 50. She cared deeply for her students, was an active member of her church communities, and loved to play the piano and organ. A loyal friend to many and often the life of the party, Midge was an avid bridge player, board game player and enjoyed puzzles of all kinds.
Midge always sought the warmest weather available and happily relocated to Florida, when she and her husband retired. Following his passing in 2016, she settled in Idaho to be nearer family.
Midge is survived by her three children, Tom (Ellen) Beavers of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Carol (Bill) Skolfield of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Marge (Bill) Preuss of Sandpoint, Idaho, as well as six grandsons and two great granddaughters.
