Marvin Emery Stutzman

November 17, 1953 — January 18, 2025

Sandpoint, Idaho

Marvin E. Stutzman, 71, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at his home in Sandpoint, Idaho, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease.

Marvin was born on November 17, 1953, in Kalona, Iowa, to Emery and Fannie Stutzman. He grew up in a large and loving family with seven brothers and two sisters. Marvin dedicated his life to truck driving, starting with long-haul livestock transport and later locally hauling logs for various companies in Bonner County. At the age of 57, Marvin retired with his wife, spending half the year in Sandpoint and the other half in Mazatlán, Mexico.

An avid horseman, Marvin had a lifelong passion for his Percheron horses. Beyond participating in horse shows both locally and internationally, where he earned numerous awards for the quality of his stock, Marvin often used his horses to log various properties in the area, combining his love for the animals with his work ethic and dedication to the land.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Stutzman; his children, Christina (Dave) Chiang, Nickolaus (Jessica) Stutzman, and Katie (Derek) Bricker; and his grandchildren, Erika, Addison, Paxtyn, Theodore, Frances, and Ada. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Fannie, and his brothers, Raymond and John Henry.

In lieu of a funeral, the family will host a celebration of life in the summer of 2025.

Marvin never met a stranger, and his kindness, outgoing personality and jokes will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His quick wit and love for making others laugh will be cherished by his family and friends, keeping his spirit alive in their hearts.
