Mary Alice Lambert, loving wife and Mother and beloved Grandmother, passed away on May 14, 2018, at the age of 94. Mary was born in Ohio and grew up in Detroit. After graduating from St. Anthony's, she worked as a secretary at Chrysler's during World War II. After the war she married Leonard, her husband of 73 years, and they raised their three children in Roseville, Michigan. Mary was a devoted mother and homemaker who felt that the favorite time of her life was when she was raising her children. Even after returning to work as a secretary at her local parish, she always made sure she would be at home each day when her children returned from school. Mary was also a Girl Scout Leader for 4 years and took her troop to Washington, D. C. and Savannah, Georgia. Springtime was Mary's favorite time of year. Her yards were always full of beautiful gardens and roses, her favorite flowers. In addition to gardening Mary enjoyed reading, playing cards, visiting her children, and traveling around the country with Leonard in their camper. She also traveled internationally to Ireland, Scotland, Italy, and the Caribbean. After retiring Mary and Leonard lived in Oroville, California; Boynton Beach, Florida; and finally here in Sandpoint where they spent their final years. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her husband, Leonard, who died a month ago. She is survived by her two daughters, Janice and Nancy; her son, Paul and daughter-in-law, Olga; and her two granddaughters, Katya and Polina. Mary was dearly loved by all and will be truly missed. She made the world a better place. A private ceremony will be held for her. Family and friends are invited to sign Mary's online guest at coffeltfuneral.com.
