Mike’s Journey

On Wednesday January 29, 2025, the love of my life, Michael passed into the arms of Jesus. He died of Congestive Heart Failure and the shut down of his kidneys. He had endured daily dialysis for a week, to no avail. He passed peacefully at Kootenai Health Center surrounded by his family. During his final hours we were playing worship music from his collection on his iPad. At this time he was in and out of sleep when Kari Jobe's song "Forever" (Long version) began to play. He loved that song. He cocked his ear toward the iPad and during the Pastor's monologue, he raised his arm in worship to his King.

During his stay there, he interacted with many nurses and visitors who came to pray with him. Two nurses were present when he went to be with Jesus - both had tears in their eyes during his last moments.

One day, during dialysis he overheard two nurses speaking about a serious surgery one was facing. He offered to pray for her, she accepted and was very appreciative of his caring prayer for her. Another day, a couple from Pastor Steve Brown's church (his daughter and her husband) came to see Mike as Pastor Steve was unable to come that day. After visiting and praying for Mike, the husband left after telling Mike HIS faith had increased HIS faith.

We had a wonderful day on Monday, January 27th with many visitors arriving, including Pastor Steve and his wife, Pastor Mark from North Summit and Pastor Steve's daughter and son-in-law, plus our family. The room was filled with sounds of Worship Music, laughter and sweet memories. A party atmosphere filled the room! Mike was fully awake and joined in the fun.

I know that this final hospital stay completed Mike's tasks assigned to him. He was rewarded with NO PAIN during his stay, and no pain medication during his transition time. He rallied a short time before he went to Heaven and enjoyed some amazing moments with his nephew and family, smiling widely at each one with joy on his face.

I want to thank everyone who prayed for him during this time. These prayers were answered not with a miraculous healing, but with the PAIN FREE stay in his last days.

He will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him, for his humorous nature, his love for us, and especially his love for JESUS that he freely expressed to many. And of course for his "ELVIS FOR JESUS" impersonation programs which brought joy to all.

Love from his loving wife,

Babara
