Norma Jean (Keough) Whitehead, aged 86 years, residing in Shoreline, WA passed away on March 23, 2023. Norma was born on December 8, 1936 in Tacoma, WA and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1954. She married Dolph Whitehead in 1956. In 1957, she and Dolph moved to Seattle, where they made a home and raised their children.
Norma completed her nursing degree at the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She had a lengthy nursing career working in operating rooms, acute care settings, rehabilitation and extended care facilities. She concluded her career at Northwest Hospital in 1997 as a Materials Handling Manager.
Norma’s independent and adventurous spirit led her to travel the world. She circled the globe and visited every continent. However, her greatest gift was the support and unconditional love she gave to her family, friends and community.
Norma is survived by her children Sally Keller and Steven (Cathie) Whitehead, grandchildren Jeffrey (Valerie) Keller, Sarah Keller, Erin Keller, Anna Nguyen-Whitehead, Audrey Nguyen-Whitehead, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dolph on December 20, 2022, her sisters, Darlene McManus and Shirley Pugh. A joint Celebration of Life for Dolph and Norma will be held in Sandpoint, ID on August 3, 2023.
