PHILIP GENE DREISBACH, 85
On Friday, January 5, 2024, Philip Gene Dreisbach, affectionately known as Swede, passed away peacefully at his home, with his loving wife of 62 years by his side. He was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on June 17, 1938, to Harry and Ella Dreisbach. He was the youngest of six children. He loved the outdoors and began working in the logging industry after graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1957. On June 16, 1962, he married Jeanne Pucci, a classmate he had gone all through school with. They moved to Coeur d’Alene and raised three daughters—his pride and joy. Not only was Phil dedicated to his family and his job, but also volunteered helping serve the St. Vincent De Paul homeless population for over 25 years.
Phil is survived by his wife, Jeanne; daughters Mary (Mark) Monroe, Jane Soltys and Jan Whitcomb; grandchildren/great-grandchildren Travis Monroe, Hanna Monroe, Amanda (Chris) Bremer (Brielle, Gavin & Coleson), Melinda (Justin) Soltys-Bender, Philip (Sabrina) Whitcomb (Emerie, Harlow & Kaiden), Kassie Whitcomb, Kattie Whitcomb, and Matthew Whitcomb.
Phil was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and all-around man. To many he was, and still is, the best man they have ever known. The people who knew him were beyond blessed by his presence and will continue to carry on his memory with them still. Phil loved God, his family, friends and fishing. He is now at rest with his heavenly Father and loved ones that have gone before him. All who knew him look forward to the day that they get to hug him again. Until then, we love you Papa.
