Raymond Bruce Davis passed away at home on May 2, 2018 , after a valiant fight with cancer. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Elks Golf Course on May 9th at 11 AM. All are welcome. Raymond Bruce Davis was born December 18, 1943 in Omak, Washington to Delores and Raymond Davis. His father Raymond perished in World War II when Bruce was 2. His mother, Delores, later married Wayne Heath and the family settled in Sandpoint, Idaho. Bruce grew up in Sandpoint, where he met Mary Ann, his wife of almost 45 years. They moved to Washington for a brief time, coming back to Sandpoint to settle and start a family. Bruce logged in his early years, working as a sawyer. He was very skilled at his craft and developed his lifelong love of the outdoors. As logging declined in the area, he became the produce manager at the Discount Warehouse. He held that profession for almost 30 years. Bruce and Mary Ann had 3 children, Craig, Robin and John. He coached Little League and taught his children to hunt, fish and swim instilling his love of the outdoors in each of them. He was an award winning hunter winning numerous competitions. Bruce also excelled in golfing, scoring a hole-in-one in 1996. He was also known to win a game of pool now and then. In the early 1980’s, Bruce’s wife, Mary Ann was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and rapidly declined. Showing great strength he became her caretaker, allowing her to live her life to the fullest filled with love until she passed in 2008. He continued hunting and fishing and taking care of his family. He was a very charismatic man who will be missed by family, friends and the community. Bruce is survived by his children Craig (and Amy) Davis of Asheville, North Carolina; Robin(and Allan) Freeberg of Sagle, Idaho; John(and Beth Craig) of Samuels, Idaho; 7 grandchildren, Alexis , Tucker, Anthony, Katie, Grace , Natasha and Megan; 4 great grandchildren, Malia, Madilynn, Piper and Ebbe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delores and Wayne Heath, his brother, Clayton Heath, his son Raymond, and wife MaryAnn. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
