Richard Lee Largent

Memorial service for Richard Lee Largent, 66, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday July 24th at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint Idaho. He will be interred next to his father Donald W. Largent. 

 

Richard, a longtime Spokane resident, died June 5th, 2021. He was born in Spokane, Washington and grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho, graduating from Sandpoint high school in 1973. In his youth, Richard played baseball, football, bowled and was a trumpet player in the high school band. He attended North Idaho College for one year and then transferred to the University of Idaho, where he received a degree in Business Accounting and Finance in 1977. After his graduation he received his Certified Public Accounting Certificate in 1984. Some of the companies he worked for over the years as a Senior Accountant, Controller or CFO were Hollister-Stier, Rolatape and Spokane Restaurant Equipment until retiring in 2017.

 

Richard was involved in the Boy Scouts for many years and received the Eagle Scout Award in 1971. He held many leadership positions both in boy scouting and sea scouting. While in scouting he had the opportunity to attend the 13th World Jamboree in Japan in 1971.

 

Over the years he enjoyed snow skiing, golf and fly fishing. He was an excellent brewer of beer and always enjoyed visiting new breweries whenever possible.

 

Survivors include his Stepmother and Father Carolyn and Dick Nichols; One brother, Allen Largent of Houston Texas; two step sisters, Heidi Rockford of Post Falls and Jennifer Gatts of Spokane; two step brothers, Jeffrey and Thomas James of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
