Ruth E. (Bakeberg) Munts

Ruth Elizabeth (Bakeberg) Munts, 96, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 in Kootenai, Idaho.   A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Heinsen officiating.  Ruth will be inurned in California at a later date.   Ruth was born on September 4, 1921 in Maple Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Alexander and Stella Miller.  She would attend local schools and graduate from Maple Lake High School in 1939.  She would attend Hillsdale College in Minnesota before moving to San Jose, California.   In San Jose, California she would work as a teacher’s aide before going to work for the school cafeteria.  She would become the manager of the cafeteria and retire from that after 30 years of work.    After retirement she would move to Canada for a short time and then would move to North Idaho in 1987 to the Wrenco Loop area.   Ruth enjoyed knitting, cooking, she loved her church and grew Iris flowers.   She is survived by her husband Bob Munts, her daughter Gale Boughman, her son John Bakeberg, her grandchildren William Bakeberg and Matthew Bakeberg along with four great grandchildren.   Ruth in preceded in death by her first husband Arnold Bakeberg, her parents Alexander and Stella and her three sisters.
