Stephen Arthur Minier

February 15, 1950 — May 13, 2018

This quiet, gentle, kind man who was our brother, uncle and friend passed away May 13th, 2018with his sister bolding his hand for the beginning of his journey home to the lord.  It was Mother’s Day and we’re certain our mom and dad were there to happily greet him.      Steve fought an incredible fight against his cancer, never complaining.  Now he is at peace.      He was born in Monteray Park, California on February 15, 1950.  He moved with his family in 1960 to Simi Valley where he lived for 44 years.  In 2004 he moved to Sandpoint, Idaho to be near family and experience the beauty of the Northwest.      Steve worked in retail for many years in California.  He also worked for Safeway in Sandpoint for several years.  He always loved his jobs but mostly he loved the people with whom he worked.     His real love was his devout Catholic faith and his participation in the Knights of Columbus.  Steve was a 4th Degree Knight and very active in their community.  He was also very active in A.A., which he would proudly tell you he had been a member for 41 years.  The L.A. Dodgers had a lifelong fan in Steve.  His avid love of his Dodgers started when Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale were pitching.     Steve lived a happy, simple life wand was always surrounded by the love of his family.  He never missed a holiday or birthday celebration that was available to him.  He is survived by his sisters, Janet Eggers and Patti Adragna of Sandpoint, Idaho; brother-in-law Terry Eggers; his nephews and their families; Mark, Keri, Noah & Lincoln Placke of Altamonte Springs, Florida; Michael, Leia, Garnet, and Calvin Placke of Palouse, Washington; Christopher, Amanda, Brayden & baby Placke-to-be of Cameron Park, California; Nicholas, Brenda & Ava Mazzanti of Camarillo, California; and Audra Minier & her family of Vancouver, Washington.  His mom & dad, Claire Minier and Roy Minier; brother, Russell and niece, Michelle predeceased him. Steve, we love you and miss you so much already, you will always be in our hearts.  Life has been a much better journey because of the lessons you helped us learn.  Rosary, Wednesday May 23rd, at 6pm.  Funeral Mass, Thursday May 24th at 11 am In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Josephs Knights of Columbus, Sandpoint, Idaho.
