Theda Louise Erickson

September 16, 1919 — August 11, 2018

Theda Louise Erickson, 98 went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday August 11, 2018 at Luther Park Assisted Living in Sandpoint, ID

There will be a celebration of her life on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. August 22, 2018 at Kootenai Community Church with Pastor Jim Osman officiating. (477 N. Main Kootenai, ID)

Theda was born on September 16, 1919 in Newton, Iowa to Forest and Rachel Goforth.

She married Stanley Erickson in November 1937 in Santa Monica, Calif.  After working 25 years as secretary in their plumbing business she retired.  She enjoyed growing orchids, camilla's and gardenias, fishing, cake decorating and sewing.

 

After her husband passed away in 1991 she moved to Sagle, Idaho in 1992 to be with her daughter, grandson and family where she found herself helping her daughter raise sheep. She thoroughly enjoyed every moment with her family and especially her great grandchildren.  She enjoyed vacations to many beautiful destinations with her daughter, and was active in her church.  In 2012 she moved to Luther Park Assisted Living where she made many friends.

 

Theda is survived by her daughter Diane Carlson of Sagle, Idaho, grandson David Carlson (Kim) of Sagle, Idaho, great grandchildren Brittany (Matt) Erickson of American Samoa, and Shawnn Carlson of Spokane, Washington.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, sister Lucille Craig, and infant grandson James Lawrence Carlson and son-in-law Merle Carlson.

 

Theda will be laid to rest beside her husband Stanley at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica, Calif.
