Trina E. Lawrence passed while sleeping peacefully in her home March 2, 2023, at 8:20 p.m. in the town of Laclede, Idaho, where she lived harmoniously with her husband, Daniel Lawrence, since arriving from North Carolina in 2002.
Trina has two sons, Aaron Lawrence and Eric Lawrence; a sister, Tracy Merritt; a brother, Tripp Anderson (deceased); a sister, Trellis Mansfield (deceased); and a half-sister, Debra Hillary. Trina’s parents, Bjarne and Gloria Anderson, both preceded her passing. She also had five amazing grandchildren, Elli, daughter of Eric and his wife Treasa; and Makala, Katlin, Gavin and Ferrin, the children of Aaron and Rachael.
Trina was a woman who brought life, light and beauty to whatever situation or location she found herself in. Those fortunate enough to work with her loved her passion and positivity. Trina worked 14 years at Panhandle State Bank before going to work for the county at DMV, starting in the Sandpoint office before moving to the Priest River office where she worked until her transfer to the Treasurer’s Office, a place she truly enjoyed working until a month before her death.
Trina will be missed by those who worked with her and those who raced sailboats against her with Sandpoint Sailing Association for 10 years. She will be missed by the N. Idaho/Eastern Washington motorcycle scene, where she is affectionately known as “Willow.” She was proud to ride with “BATAA” (Bikers Against Teen Addiction and Abuse) for two years, enjoying Christmas shopping for children from troubled homes, helping raise money for the “Underground Railroad,” helping with benefit rides or helping other bikers and kids in need.
Trina remained a member of Freedom Riders, in the Sandpoint chapter, a club that put together a tremendous event in Sandpoint last year to raise money for medical expenses for her, and named the new annual event “Trina’s Ride,” which will raise money for a different woman with cancer each year.
Though Trina will be missed by bikers, sailors and those who had the fortune to know her, including a myriad of extended family, she will not be forgotten by any of them. She literally changed lives through the love that filled her and the effort that poured out of her, or more precisely, the person that she was.
Trina’s memorial service will be held at New Life Church, 1925 N. Boyer Ave., Sandpoint, at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, officiated by Brother Randy Lightfoot. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charitable organization of your choosing.
A special thank you to Coffelt Funeral Home for the kindness and gentleness with which they cared for Trina.
